I have heard that due to the restructure that VL2 teams are looking to make moves. Knox looking for a big player and Bendigo looking to make a push for VL1 as well as Weribee. Anyone know any players who would move for cash to VL2... Heard Jono Cross Burra PLR is looking for cash flow for new car speakers, attacking FB/HB with clutch tackling ability. Brother of Tim Cross, so clearly comes from good stock could be someone to hit up. This is bloody gold hahaha Bit more value on him if Burra win PLR final???

At the present he values himself at a pioneer speaker set up with sub as transfer fee; Burra manage to win PLR however his asking for a slab or VB a week and a permanent armchair at revs.

Lynch to keep for Greensborough in GF, word is Butler played Last game for club in the net so will be somewhere else in 2017? Footscray looking for one and possibly two new coaches? Watch that space? A woman to coach MPL in 2017? Who? Which club? One of four Grand final PL coaches only to continue on in 2017? Which one? Why was Naskawen in the grandstand on Sunday and not on the pitch?

Why the interest ? Looking to cause trouble or looking for a club to move too ? A few available spots and too many to fill them , at least one move each side of the yarra

Word on the street is a few up and coming keepers from Waverley looking to take the step up to MPL Up and coming in about 5-6 years maybe , the two who I think you are referring too, and one I am pretty sure is your son , should concentrate on being the best they can be in their age group , MPL is a whole different ball game . Suggest they learn what they can in Academy , if they made that , and also attend some seniors training sessions.

With the season over the fun begins.
Word out of Doncaster is they are very confident they have secured Ben White from KBH for next season. KBH missing move to Premier League and uncertainty around who they can secure to coach a big point that Donny can ram home.
Disappointing to see. Develop a kid to U16 Aus level then watch him out the door.

Dear Southern Guest, You are correct but where your arguement falls apart The FIH the world peak body views them as from NZ HA the peak body views them as NZ foreign player. In AHL if they play for a State they are viewed as foreign players and limited to 3 per team Every other State Association in Aus views them as foreign player, in WA there are rules even covering Aus players from other states. And the legislation you refer to does not specifically inc sport. All other Australian National sporting bodies view them as foreign participants. If your arguement stood up then a runner or swimmer from NZ could win state or national titles, they cant as per National body determinations they are foreigners. In NZ championships for Hockey ,Australians are categorised as foreign players and are limited per team I believe Trumps your misinterprated use of trans tasman agreement which does not specifically include sport Anyway it is a failed experiment at Southern, cannot believe they would do it again with women. Keep it to 3 internationals inc NZs

Same Guest here. I'm just playing devils advocate.
Also not Southern thanks, but nice try. I just happen to work with a few sheep shaggers. If the mud-flinging rumours of paying Kiwis is true, then that sounds a whole lot like the definition of work.
I just wanna know why: A) Why people think it's not working? B) If it isn't working, whats the problem?

Would say it's not working as they aren't really developing the next tier of players, the New Zealanders they do have playing aren't actually that good bar one. Seems like quite a toxic atmosphere and sounds like the people the club are spending money on are the ones who get a free ride and aren't actually giving back to the club much nor training properly. Just snippets I've heard from people who've either quit or left southern over the past couple of years

The atmosphere is not toxic nor has a lot of money been spent. I wouldnt be relying on good information from people who have quit or left as they no doubt have an axe to grind. Not developing next tier of players? Check out how many in HV state teams and programs.

Load of bull mate, in the woman's Club culture only benidited from bringing in a NZ, her skill level, athleticism and commitment pushed everyone else to train harder. She missed maybe one training session, due to having to go home for the week. The younger girls were training with her week in and week out, playing with an ex u21 international was quite inspiring to the girls. Not only turning up to almost all training sessions she worked with coaching some younger players in the club, who really enjoyed her being a part.
How about we change this conversation from shaming southern in our attempt to do as much as possible to get of their feet after getting into PL. One international isn't going to Stop the kids from 'developing into the next top teir of players' and go look at your facts, 7 players selected into the Emerging vipers, 3 into AUS futures, and not to mention the 40 something players selected into state teams across boys and girls.

I think some ownership needs to be taken here Historically Southern created this loophole. Convinced HV through using the Trans Tasman law that NZ players are not OS players. This is clearly wrong. HV error that needs to be fixed This clearly perpetuated by Southern as they get a 1st coach from NZ who has access to NZ players. Twice as the seasons progresses they continue to bring additional NZ players in. Remember one season they were fighting relegation I think it was against Mentone and week before pivotal match still bringing in extra NZ players inc week before. Think again from memory they got up to 7 imports that season. Maybe someone from Mentone on forum could post. Another year they had a good start and the NZ kept coming chasing a flag but that just fell away with no success Southern have created a reputation for themselves and to get rid of that need to lead the charge to get HVto correct this baseless loophole and or self regulate . Given all these great kids you have not giving them a go. That is the past! The issue is the future Hmmmmm is 100 percent right. Southern and all the new or mid range teams building should try and get up to 3 OS players to add hopefully great DNA, culture, work ethic to your homegrown young and proposed or existing PL players. You have given a great example with your one NZ u 21. Problem is MCC previously(english players)and Southerns (NZ players ) have gone past the 3 player OS rule through various unchecked means ( incorrectly allowed by HV) only helping to demonise OS players. I have heard widely circulated rumours that Southern have a NZ coach for WPL in 2017 , had one NZ player this year but are going to bring in " 5 or 6" for 2017 to push for finals. True or not this is legacy of operation of MPL team over many years. That I think is big part of this problems, clubs follow coaches lead and use of OS players not to develop a successful sustainable future and developing local talent but to try and make finals ASAP. All the great Southern parents and players, your club has a "history" at basis of the criticism, ensure your future Admin limits it to 3 OS players (inc NZ OS players)and lead charge to close loophole and ensure these rumours are untrue and your Junior girls fill these spots. If you are lucky you get someone like Maartje at Essendon who must be the recruit of the decade at WPL.

Everyone knows SUHC are using the loophole that needs closing to there advantage, everyone outside of SUHC realise it needs changing. Time for HV to step up.
